Professional self-regulation mechanisms designed to ensure maintenance of ethical standards in advertising content exist in many countries, such as the Advertising Self-Regulatory Council (ASRC) and the 4A’s Privacy Committee in the USA, the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) in Europe and the ARPP in France. At an international level mention could be made of the work being done on the ICC professional code (International Chamber of Commerce), and collective projects such as “Online Behavioral Advertising” or “Native Advertising”.
